Books I read while on sabbatical

Reading has always been one of my favorite ways to unwind. I have very fond memories of discovering the Hobbit/LoTR when I was seven, and my house is full of books even though I’m mostly buying ebooks these days.

I dedicated a huge chunk of my sabbatical to working through the backlog on my Kindle, and then downloaded a number of additional books once I’d accomplished that. I love sharing what I’ve read, so here we go (in approximate reading order not counting comics, graphic novels, etc.):

  1. New Blood (HALO)
  2. Avogadro Corp: The Singularity Is Closer Than It Appears
  3. Proxima
  4. The Ocean at the End of the Lane
  5. The Mirror Empire
  6. The Atlantis Gene
  7. The Atlantis Plague
  8. The Atlantis World
  9. Ex-Heroes
  10. Departure
  11. Mind’s Eye
  12. BrainWeb
  13. The Lost Starship
  14. The Lost Command
  15. Quantum Lens
  16. Extinction Horizon

Sabbatical is over, but as soon as I can find the time Nemesis Games is on deck.

  • Jason Turner

I’ve read some mixed reviews on ‘Avogadro Corp’. I’d be interested to hear what you thought about it. So many movies about singularity nowadays…they are all starting to blur together.

  • Nice list, that’s like a book every four days.
