Gamers giving Extra Life to kids

Today I’m talking about one of two amazing charities that involve gamers giving back to help kids in need – Extra Life (the other one is Child’s Play).

Extra Life is a 24-hour gaming marathon to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network.  In my case, I’ll be raising money for Seattle Children’s Hospital.  Starting at 8AM on Saturday, October 16th I’ll be playing games for 24 hours straight with my family and friends.

There’ll be plenty of Xbox 360 gaming – Reach, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and much more.  We’ll have great board and card games like Munchkin and Risk.  We’ll even dig through my archive and pull out some great classic games that go way, way back.

If you’re reading this, it’d be wonderful if you could donate to the cause.  You can help me reach my goal of $2,500 or look on the Extra Life page for someone supporting your local CMN hospital.

I know you don’t know me from Adam, but it’d be cool to help you raise money for this event and game with you. Regardless, I will try to remember to donate, once I get a paycheck in.

How does the money go to the hospital? Do we have to send them money or do we just play on Xbox Live? I’ll be posting info on this to all our fans so we can help support the kids there. Can I just get a little more info on this? Thanks!

@Neil – click on the link above where it says “help me reach my goal of $2,500” and you’ll be taken to the donation page. All funds go to the Children’s Miracle Network and the hospital, not through me.

    I hope my $10 donation helps e!
